How I came to The #DailyCreate
I imagine this tool doesn't work anymore, even if I could remember what it was.

Searching my email, which as a Google beta tester I had long before my Domain of One’s Own, I found a tech blog from KSU and reference to a Jim Groom talk there in 2012. I probably discovered it on Twitter which I was beginning to explore in 2011. Next was OLDaily and ds106 mentions by Stephen Downes in 2014. I was starting on my journey to becoming a critical digital humanist and used the ds106 resources to learn about FOSS tools and techniques for using them. I finally started making Daily Creates after finding ds106 through cogdog. Like my other religious practices, I’m an occasional worshiper. My conversion occurred with cogdog’s running #western106. Having spent parts of my first 18 summers in my mother’s native New Mexico with her cowboy cousins, I was hooked. Like many former daily creators, I don’t spend as much time on social media as I used to and drifted away. Now that #ds106 and #tdc are on Mastodon, I’m an occasional creator again.
